The presence of Iliadis family in the transportation industry dates back to 1953. Christodoulos Iliadis, the grandfather of today’s CEO, purchased the first common carrier truck license. In 1961 after purchasing a second truck, he moved the base of the transport company from Serres to Thessaloniki. By steadily investing in modern trucking equipment the business was continuously expanding in a solid and conservative manner.
In the mid 80s Ilias Iliadis, the son of Christodoulos, took control of the company, enlarging its private fleet and becoming an important broker of transportation services. In 2011 based on the important reforms in the Greek transportation sector, the company evolved into its current form as Iliadis Cargo S.A. The new entity took ownership of the fleet of Iliadis family and the company’s purpose expanded to contain all kinds of goods transport (National & International road haulage, Ocean & Air freight services) and logistic services. Today, the third generation of the family has an active role in the management. It shares the same principles of continuous growth on solid steps based mostly on private funding. The company’s fleet now consists of 16 private trucks and more than 20 third party owner-operated ones.
